Party – Super Simple Chili Bar

As I mentioned yesterday, we had a some of our good friends over last weekend to watch Sunday night football. I wish the outcome of the game was better, but we had a great time nonetheless. This was our second football themed get together in the past few months. I almost didn’t even want to make anything since things have been so crazy, but since I thought of something easy that didn’t require much  prep or cooking, I talked myself into it.
I found this recipe from one of my favorite people, The Pioneer Woman, for Simple, Perfect Chili. Ree didn’t fail to disappoint…this recipe was delish! I made the chili in the afternoon (on the stove) and then transferred it to the slow cooker to keep warm.
And what goes great with chili?? Hot Dogs! And Fritos. And tortilla chips. And tater tots. Ok I got a little carried away ,  but you can never have too much food…at least that’s what my mom taught me :)
We had the following toppings for the chili – cheddar cheese, onions, tomato, limes, and jalapenos.
I even found these cute napkins and plates at Wal-Mart.
If only the Chargers would have won the game, it would have been a perfect night. I’m still upset at the calls the refs made during the Chargers’ last drive….anyways, I digress. Back to the food…
And we had white chocolate dipped oreos and pretzels for dessert. You guys know all about those now :)
Do you have favorite recipes when you want to make things super simple when having people over?
Do you have any go to slow cooker recipes?

Oh I love the idea of a chili bar. So perfect for football games. FYI, I have nominated you for a Liebster award. See today’s post for details. I have a link to your blog on my site. :)
