My Best Friend’s Baby Shower

Children's Book Themed Baby Shower

Disclaimer: This is a photo heavy post…hope you enjoy!
I’ve been waiting to share this on this blog for awhile now. I knew I wanted to devote a few posts to it and with the holidays the timing hasn’t been right. But I’m so excited to share it now! I mean the baby is going to be here soon so I better get a move on :)
Back in November, we threw my best friend a baby shower for her first child. My BF means the world to me and I wanted the shower to be as amazing as she is. She is a school psychologist, so we decided on a children’s book themed shower.

My friends at Complete 3 Photography helped capture the day. And they did so so beautifully. All of these photos are courtesy of them. Check out their blog and Facebook page for even more beautiful images.
We matched the food to a children’s book. These are Almond Cupcakes with Strawberry Crème Frosting (recipe to come soon!)

My mom made her delicious pasta salad to go with the book Strega Nona (one of my favorites from Tomie dePaola).

I think my favorite thing were the tissue paper poufs. They were so easy to make and added so much color to the room.

We even had a head band making station. I got all the supplies from The Hair Bow Company. They had such a great selection and reasonable prices.

There’s no way this shower would have come together if it wasn’t for the help of family and friends. It was definitely a team effort. And a special thanks to Complete 3 for the amazing photos. Can’t wait to work with you again soon!
I’ll be sharing some recipes and craft tutorials for some of the things you see above…so stay tuned!
And come back tomorrow to enter an awesome giveaway! It may or may not be for a Kindle Fire ;)

I have to say… I’ve ben looking at baby shower ideas for my “bestie” for a while now. Yours is the first I’ve come across that combines the idea of a lovely, themed, sophisticated baby shower with REALITY. I’m sorry, but so much of what is out there is upsurd. SUPER cute, but outrageous, over-the-top, expensive, and paired with the need to have it professionally planned. Your party is a perfect balance of being fabulous, cute, and doable. A step up without going entirely overboard. I love the idea of having guests write their address on the thank you notes and having a simple take-a-way cookie as a favor. Your ideas were absolutely adorable and so so clever and I am hoping now that this is something my best friend would like to do! Wonderful job, your bestie is one lucky mama! Thanks for the great ideas :)
