Chocolate Covered Watermelon Oreos

Chocolate Covered Watermelon Oreos - watermelon Oreos made to look like watermelon slices
Now, it’s probably not a surprise to people to see another Oreo recipe here at The Pink Flour. But I have to say this may be my favorite one yet – Chocolate Covered Watermelon Oreos. You may have heard all the talk about the watermelon flavored Golden Oreos that came out a few weeks ago. Before I even found out about these, I had been thinking about making watermelon oreos for summer. So these were perfect!

One of the great things about this recipe is it is no-bake. Perfect for the summer when you don’t want to heat up your house with an oven.

Instead of chocolate for the seeds I used this sparkle black frosting. But you could use melted chocolate or even chocolate sprinkles.

Chocolate Covered Watermelon Oreos

Yields: 30 cookies

Ingredients

1 package (12 oz.) pink chocolate candy melts
1 package (12 oz.) green chocolate candy melts
1 package Oreos
Black sparkle frosting (or melted chocolate)

Directions

  1. Cut all the Oreos into semi-circles with a sharp knife.
  2. Melt pink chocolate in a microwave safe bowl or coffee mug for 30 second intervals, at 50% power, stirring in between until fully melted. Dip the Oreo halves into the chocolate covering them completely, taping them on the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Put on wax paper and then in refrigerator to harden.
  3. Melt green chocolate in same manner as the pink chocolate in step 2. Dip the rounded edge of the oreo in the green chocolate and place back on the wax paper to harden.
  4. Using the black frosting, make little seeds on the watermelon slices. Place all cookies in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to fully harden. Enjoy!
