A few months ago it was no big deal for my husband and I to go out and enjoy some of the great Mexican food southern California has to offer, along with some margaritas. But now that our son is here, it makes any venture out of the house a little more…uh, involved should we say So I welcome anything that allows me to indulge in some adult drinks in the comfort of my own home.
Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade being a mom for anything in the world – but sometimes mama just needs a little drink after the little one is in bed. But I don’t have a lot of time to prepare some fancy mixed drink, so last week, once Harrison went to bed my husband and I enjoyed trying Jose Curevo’s new Teagarita.
It is a blend of Jose Cuervo tequila, orange liqueur and iced tea. We have been on an iced tea kick in our house lately since it is low calorie and refreshing during the summer. But I had never thought to turn it into a margarita. I was a little skeptical at first, but once I tried it I really liked it. It wasn’t overly sweet and was easy to just pour over ice.
One of the other things I liked about the Teagarita is that you can customize the drink with different flavors just by adding some fresh fruit. I muddled some raspberries, which made the drink even more delicious!
We have plans to go to the beach in a few weeks and I was thinking these would be a great thing to bring and enjoy with our family. It’s a great way to enjoy a margarita on the go. Maybe I’ll even make homemade tortilla chips and guacamole to go with them!
