Tea Party Bridal Shower - a modern spin on a traditional theme from www.thepinkflour.com
I’m super excited to share this post with you guys today all about the Tea Party themed Bridal Shower we threw for my cousin. This is the same cousin I made this graduation frame for a few months ago. She is taking the Bar exam in a few weeks so we should all send her good vibes :)
Oh and did you notice the new look around here? The blog got a little makeover this past week from the lovely, Laura at Sophie & Rory. I am in love with the new design and owe it all to her! If you’re looking for some blog design work, I highly recommend her.

Now, back to the shower! The bride is like my sister so we wanted to make the shower just as special as she is. We decided on a Tea Party theme, but put a little bit of a modern spin on it.

Since the shower was during the summer, we had both iced and hot tea available. There were lots of flavors to choose from as well as fruit to add to their iced tea.

For the guest book, we had guests write their well wishes on little doilies and then put into an album for the bride to keep.
Since the shower was in Temecula, California, we did a little play on words and called it a “Tea”-mecula shower. I made the sign with gold vinyl on my Silhouette.

For the food, we decided on finger sandwiches, along with salad, fruit, bread and my favorite – brie with a raspberry compote & almonds.

You probably know I love making desserts, so we decided to make the desserts ourselves and chose ones that were small and easy to eat -
Mini Pink Velvet Cupcakes
Lemon Bars
Almond Vanilla Tea Bag Sugar Cookies
Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Madeleine Cookies
Macaroons
Assorted cookies & brownies
UPDATE: See my post with all the details on the desserts.

My mom had this great wooden tea box that we displayed all of the tea in. And the favors were little bags filled with little tea sachets.

One of my favorite elements was this tea set my mother-in-law lent me. The set was her grandmother’s and she just had it re-plated. It was absolutely stunning and a great addition to the dessert table.
